We entered the Morecambe in bloom gardening competition again for the third year. This year we had very hot dry weather, and then had a storm and gale force winds, which was difficult with being right on the sea front. There were also problems with judges so were late at coming around to judge so a lot of the plants were dying off.
This year we entered three categories, Tourism, Best Hanging Basket and Themed category. We won an award for two of these, we won one for the themed category which we had never entered before, and we won one for Tourism.
The themed category this year was WW1 Centenary Commemoration marking 100 years.
We try to make our garden look beautiful and inviting for our guests and to invite wildlife into the garden.
Following the judging, successful participants was awarded either Bronze, Silver, Silver Gilt or Gold certificates. We went to Morecambe Football Club the Globe Arena to receive our awards which was a nice evening out.
